Bf 109 G-10 Ser. # 151938

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 with the serial # 151938 s shot down near Augsburg in April 1945. Pilot bailed out.
I beleive this plane flew an attack against American Forces at April 24th 1945 but not sure.
Looking for all details now.
E.g. In which Jagdgeschwader (Unit/Squadron) flew this airplane?
Who flew it?
Where built? I guess in Erla Werke Leipzig, but not quite sure.

All answers are welcome
Thanks in advance
Rolf

Hi.

I do not have any hard evidence, but my suggestion would be to check JG 300 and/or JG 301 records first, as it seems these units received many of the aircraft in this WNr block

I do not have a factory for this block, hopefully someone else do.

Andreas B

Hello Rolf,

I was a little surprised because I thought that your thread in luftarchiv.de cleared up that's an G-10/R6 from Erla factory.

Best wishes

Hi Rasmussen,

It is 99% sure that the plane was built in Erla Leipzig in Marc 1945. I do not have seen any evidence or document. And that's the reason I say not quite sure!

But I never got any feed back reg. the Unit or Squadron. And this is the reason I'm asking here in this forum.

Regards
Rolf

It's 101% sure that the a/c was built by Erla Leipzig in March 1945 ... you can believe it. :)

Best wishes

Re: Bf 109 G-10 Ser. # 151938

Hi Rasmussen,
thanks again for your answer. I really apreciate it. I'm sure you are right and I belive it!
But - when e.g. my wife is asking: Can you prove it? Then I have to say no, I saw it in the Internet. That's the reason I say 99%.

Unfortunatelly the tread is going in the wrong direction now, my main questions are:
What Unit/Squadron which pilot flew this specific BF 109 G-10

Thanks again
Rolf

Re: Bf 109 G-10 Ser. # 151938

According to the loss-list in Jagdgeschwader 300 by Lorant, JG300 lost no 109's that day. Only II Gruppe lost some Focke Wulfs but given the chaos that reigned during those days I'm sure that there are errors... They did lose 109's on the days before and after but no Wrk.Nr's are given.

Cheers! / Anders
