609 Squadron´s Typhoon lost on D-Day ( Info needed )
Hello to all!
I am seeking two bits of information to complement what I already had in hand. On D-Day, a Typhoon Ib from 609 Squadron ( serial MN697 ) was shot down by Flak around Caen. It was flown by an Australian pilot, W/O Georges K E Martin. I would like to know: 1- the code of the aircraft: ( PR - ????? ) 2- The full name of W/O Martin ( K E means what ? ) 3- or the RAF service number of W/O Martin. Thanks in advance for any welcomed help. Adriano |
