Another question to ask regarding Bf109's
 
Hi again..sorry for asking all these questions but I do want to get this drawing historically accurate. The question is this: when the 109 pilot bailed out...how did the canopy move...backwards, tilted or did it eject??.. Hope someone can clear this up for me...

The middle section of the canopy tilted to starboard. For 109s equipped with the Erla Haube (late-model Gs and Ks), the entire rear section of the canopy tilted to starboard. For details, check any book on the 109.

When the pilot of a 109 wanted to bailout, he jettisoned the whole canopy.
