He111 7/KG1 lost in France
 
Hello can anybody provide details of the 7/KG1 He111 lost on 10th May1940 near St.Quentin were only survived his pilot, Ofw.Buchholz?

Hi Fran,

Herewith the details you requested:

7./KG1 Heinkel He111H. Shot down by Hurricanes of No.85 and 607 Sqdns. south of St-Quentin during sortie to attack airfields near Albert. Crashed and burned out between Benay and Hinacourt 3.00 p.m. Uffz Paul Röder, Gefr Franz Schirmer, and Flgr Florian Marchelek killed. Oberfw Kurt Buchholz baled out over Essigny-le-Grand and captured badly wounded. Lt Karl-Heinz von Schmidt baled out between Ginchy and Maricourt and captured unhurt. Aircraft a write-off.
