Conspicious Gallantry Medal

From 1942 Allied aircrews were buried by the Germans on a cemetery on the airfield off St-Trond ( St-Truiden in flemish ) Belgium. Two British airman who were buried here both were awarded the Conspicious Gallantry Medal :

P/O Mayer Stanley 162590 Lancaster DV-285 from N° 101 Sqdn
F/S Jefferies Arthur Harrington 1313283 Lancaster LM-425 from N) 550 Sqdn

Re: Conspicious Gallantry Medal

Dear Alain,

As you probably know, a very rarely awarded medal. Instituted in 1942, only 110 airmen received this medal in WWII. The name of the cemetery according to Alan Cooper, author of the 1986 book In Action With the Enemy which documents all 110 recipients is the Heverlee War Cemetery.
