 He111 from 1(F)/122 shot down Walrus 18 May 1940 Hi guys Has anyone information regarding the shooting down of a Walrus by a He111 from 1(F)/122 on 18 May 1940 over Norway - from the German side? Who were the crew? Cheers Brian |

 Re: He111 from 1(F)/122 shot down Walrus 18 May 1940 Brian From the relevant page on www.luftwaffedata.co.uk - "18 May 1940 – Two 1(F)./122 Heinkels on a sortie over Malangen encountered a Walrus launched from HMS Devonshire and shot it down." Shores' "Fledgling Eagles" has a bit more (you have most likely found this already) - P5647 crashed into the fjord and Lt.R W Benson-Dare and one other killed. One of the He111s also attacked a Norwegian streamer "Sirius" in Solberfjord. The recce he 111s also called down a force of He 111s of II./KG 26 to attack british warships - the battleship Resolution was damaged and withdrew to Scapa Flow. All above from p324 of FE.
