Lt. Ernst Laube of 7./JG26 in 1940

I have a photo that purports to be Lt. Ernst Laube of III./JG26, in the cockpit of a Bf109E-4 of Stab III./JG26, which is normally associated with Lt. Joachim Müncheberg, the III Gr. Adjutant. Could this be a case where Laube, normally associated with 7. Staffel, was the Adjutant for a while of III Gr. after Lt. Müncheberg was transferred to command 7 Staffel on 21.8.40?

Anyone know the answer to this, or who did succeed Müncheberg as the III Gr. Adjutant?
