Ltn Ellmar Resch

Ltn Ellmar Resch KIA 15 October 1941 while flying with JFS-5, possibly by 234 Squadron. Did this pilot have any frontline experience with a JG?

Dear keith A,

Lt. Elmar - Elmar with one "l" - Resch was not killed on October 15th, 1941; he was shot down in combat with Hurricanes on that day and had to bail out wounded, but was soon back again in action and had an interesting career. He was finally shot down and captured in France on August 23rd, 1944, then being Staffelkapitän of 11./JG 1.

Elmar Resch served in the new Luftwaffe and retired as Oberst. He is still alive.
