WHICH GESCHWADER? UPSIDE-DOWN CLOVER?

I have a Luftwaffe book from 1941, and it has an inscription on the inside cover. Above the inscription is a hand-drawn shield, with an upside-down 4 leaf clover (shamrock) inside. Any thoughts which group this was? Cannot find any info...

Thanks!

Nah...not it... :(

Actually I just took a pic, and realized it was a 3-leaf clover (not 4-leaf as I mentioned above)...

here it is...

By no means an exhaustive listing, but according to the link below, both 4./StG.2 or II./JG 5 used a similar emblem:

Peter

II/JG5 had a four leaf clover.

I think that is from some recce unit although I don't know which one.

I don't think it has anything to do with the other units mentioned in the thread. With all due respect, the only similarity with the other markings are that they are clovers. All the other details are to far off to have anything to do with them.

I might be able to find out more but it might take a couple of days...

Hi All,
FFS (C) 8 had the clover, but it was right side up.

In June 1943 FFS A/B 62 was at Bad Vöslau and was disbanded. Maybe there was a conncetion and due to the disbandment the clover was drawn upside down to reflect the disbandment. Some of the personnel was used to be the base for the newly formed JG 300 at Bonn-Hangelar.

Reagards,

Norbert

Ah!

That would make sense!

The rest of the inscription sates, "Von rest des Kleeblattes" zur verlobung. In treuer Kameradschaft.

"From the rest of us of the "Clover Leaf" for engagement(s). In Loyal Commeradeship. Helmut und Helmut

Possibly a dedication after it was dibanded and wishing for good "future" engagements?

It is signed, Helmut Goze(?) and Helmut ???

Thoughts?
