1. Karpaten-Jäger-Regiment der Luftwaffe?

A Death Card of a Luftwaffe Ogefr., killed on 22 Sept. 1944 in Transylvania, states that he was a member of the 1. Karpaten-Jäger-Regiment der Luftwaffe.

Can anyone supply more info on this unit and it's activity in September 1944?

Another death card of the same Luftwaffe unit showed up, also from Sept. 1944. Any info on the unit?
