B-24G.
North American Aviation-built Liberators were initially identified with the unique suffix letter "G" the first 25 were essentially similar to the B-24D; subsequent G-models incorporated Emerson nose turrets.

B-24H.
While the B-24D, E and G were production versions of a generally similar design phase, the B-24H, first built by ford in 1943, represented the next step in Liberator evolution. Although coming later in the alphabet that the G-model, the B-24H chronologically was the first Liberator production variant to sport a factory installed nose turret, the Emerson A-15.

The Ford B-24H was the first production Liberator to have a nose turret. However, the word 'production' should be emphasised for nose turreted B-24s were operating in the Pacific in considerable numbers. These were initially field modifications utilising spare or salvaged Consolidated tail turrets, but later a full scale modification programme was under taken by the Hawaiian Air Depot to modify substantial numbers of B-24Ds to the nose configuration. All these used the Consolidated A-6 turret.

The Emerson A-15 turret was used in the Ford built B-24H.
