129 Squadron 1943
 

This squadron claimed at least 16 kills from July until November 1943. Does anyoner know who made claims on 26 July, 24 and 27 September, 3 October and 29 November. I also want to confirm the claims on 31 August where 1-0-1 is claimed in one source but my records indicate kills by Mason and Bradshaw?

Hi Keith,

Aces High & Those Other Eagles mention 1-0-1 for Mason and 1-0-0 for Bradshaw on 31/8. Bradshaw claimed one of three destroyed a/c of the 129 Sqn on 3/10 too.

Keith,

Claim of Fw190 on 24/9/43 by P/O Desmond Ruchwaldy.
F/Lt Mason (POW) was shot down that day in MH472.

On 27/9/43 Ruchwaldy claims 1 x Fw-190 destroyed and another damaged.
Allan Hancock claims 1 x Me-109 damaged.


Claims of 1 x Fw190 and 1 x Me109 destroyed, and 1 x Fw190 damaged on 29/11/43 by same F/O Ruchwaldy.

I looked on the Tony Woods website and also www.cieldegloire.com

Thanks for the input, guys. I have Ruchwaldy claiming on 31.08.43 too! That means 3-0-1 on that date, not 1-0-1 as in FCWD. It still leaves me with the questions about 26/7/43, 6/9/43, and the other claimant on 27/9/43 as well as the third claimant on 3/10/43 (Bradshaw and Hancock made two of the 3 claims)

All of these came from the Sqn ORB but at that time I only copied claimes for destroyed A/C and missed some of the times, Hope it helps.
