Pilot autographs - cant find references to these men

Hi all,

Maybe my eyes are getting weak and I'm just not reading these signatures correctly, but I cant seem to find references to these gents anywhere.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...Signatures.jpg

I'm reading them as :

(top left) GW "Jerry" Fower
(top right) Dean Blaw DFM
(middle) John Hench
(bottom left) Ron Gerald
(bottom right) HC Lingh

These are a bit of a guess, especially the 'Lingh'.

Maybe I'm just showing my naivety here, but can anybody read these signatures properly? Who were/are these men?

Thanks for any help offered.

H.

My eyes say -

"Jerry" Jarrold
Ian Blair
John London ? Conch ?
Ron Gould
H. C. Leigh

haven't had a chance to look up any of these names to see if they match anyone though

Clifford William JARROLD (198680)

C W "Jerry" Jarrold wrote a book called Did You Survive The War? An Ordinary Fighter Pilot's (co-authored with Ken Delve)
He is sometimes credited as Jerry Jarrold and sometimes as C W Jarrold. It's mainly about his time in North Africa with 80 Squadron (so I believe as I haven't read the book):

(Item 041428)

I can't find an appropriate Blaw/Blair/Blow in Honour the Air Forces

hope that helps

This has been a big bleat of mine for decades.

I strongly object to the hyping of Limited Edition Prints signed by 50 pilots for £1500 or so when you have no idea who signed - or if they did? Anyone could scribble a name??

So posterity will be none the wiser.

Thanks so much for the help guys, I really do appreciate it.

Timothy, I agree with you. this print however is a bit of a 'dog', I found it by chance in a second hand sale. I spotted a few signatures I recognised straight away, Johnny Johnson and Alex Henshaw (Henshaw had just passed away, and his name was all but hidden by the poor quality framing). So I bought it with the intention of getting it mounted and framed as it desreved to be, and looking forward to researching the names I didnt recognise.

Hi Hanglands

Arthur Charles Leigh flew during the Battle of Britain with 64 and 72 Sqns, also flew with 611, 56 and 129 Sqns. I was lucky enough to meet him at a signing event and I would say your signature is an original, also the Ron Gould signature is another original as I have meet him as well and off the top of my head he flew Spitfire XIV’s with 322 Sqn 44-45. good luck with your research.
Regards
David
