P-38 loss from St: Mawgan in August 1944

Hello,

Details wanted in connection with the loss of a P-38 flown from St: Mawgan on the 19th August 1944.
There seems to have been a lot of action in St: Mawgan in August mostly I think by aircraft destined for North Africa.
In any event the pilot is recorded as MIA but the location is given as St: Mawgan so I can only assume that the a/c crashed shortly after take off or that it never reached its destination and went down over Ocean.

Thanks
Alex

I might be able to tell you more without a MACR. But first, I'd like to know where this information came from and what leads you believe that the destination was North Africa.

Hi,

If it is so important - The MACR via "Footnote".
