1 Attachment(s)
The following relic is from a german seaplane which destroyed near the port of Milos , Greece at 10/10/1944. This airplane was carrying german troops from Milos to Piraeus. It hit the ground while attempting to take off during the night. The casualties were 10 german soldiers.
Does anyone have any loss records from that period ? |

Re: Relic of german seaplane
Finally appears to be Fairey IIIF.I came in contact with the Greek Aviation Museum and they confirm the identity of the aircraft as a Fairey IIIF.
Do you have any records about the Ju-52 floatplanes in the Aegean? |
Re: Relic of german seaplane
Beg. of september the 1.Seetransportstaffel still hv 12 planes Ju52 with floatplanes, end of september just 6, in october the floats were removed nd planes "shipped" to germany, the sta.kap. Hptm Meyer , a very skilled see-flieger, was lost something around end of september, but could be beg oct.,
They were moored possibly at Phalareon Remi |
Re: Relic of german seaplane
