B.L. Duckenfield 501 Squadron
 

Hi guys

I just got "the Luftwaffe Figthers" by Chris Goss

one of the pilots listed in the book is Ron Duckenfield of 501 Squadron, how do you get Ron out of B ?

(which my name is Ron, and it is shorten from Ronald ??)

so does anybody know what his full name was, and if or why he was called Ron ?

(that don't sound like it would be a normal nickname type thing)

(Chris, great book, I just also order the one on the LW Bombers, should be here monday)

Full name was Byron Duckenfield so you can guess where Ron came from!

ahhh, well with my name being Ron, it was throwing me for a loop :)

I Understand and follow now
