Above joined Aufkl Gr OBdL in Feb 40 as an NCO, moved to I/KG 1 in Jul 42 by which time he was commissioned. After that, I have nothing on him until he is killed on his first mission with 3/NSG 20 18-19 Nov 44. He has no awards (apart from Spange) but does anyone know any more about him?
