Re: Helmut Eckoldt JG52

Steven,

According to Bernd Barbas's II./JG 52 book

He was a pilot of the 4th Staffel, went missing on 14 August, 1941 over the Ilmen Sea (near Minjuschi?) after a dogfight with 8 DB-3's with a Bf 109 F-2 WNr. 6766 <<2
He mentioned him as "minimum 1 kill at JG 52", it was a DB-3 on 9 July, 1941.

He was born on 30 June, 1921 in Hartelangenvorwerk.

Re: Helmut Eckoldt JG52

I can find the following claims for him with 4./JG52:
26.6.1941 DB-3
5.7.1941 DB-3
6.7.1941 DB-3
6.7.1941 Pe-2
9.7.1941 DB-3
22.7.1941 I-16
He was promoted from Oberfähnrich to Leutnant ca. July 1941.
What is your interest about him?

Hello Jorg, I may be getting his Soldbuch, do you know any more about him, such as photos of him.
Look forward to hearing from you.
