Ju88 Makers Plate Werk Nr. 15968?
 

I have a metal plate that I think might be from a Ju88, however I am not
sure, and was wondering if anybody could help me out.

It has on it the following:

Werk N. 15968

Motor Type. JU88

Werkstoff. 10102

Theodor Klatte
Bremen-Huchting

It is black in colour, and the number s (and JU88) are impressed
into the metal.

Any help would be great. I wasn't sure in the Wer Nr. might be for an
individual aircraft like the serial number on RAF aircraft.

Just wanted to refresh this in case anybody had missed it. Any information would be great. Would Werk Nr. 15968 relate to an individual Ju88, or do I have the wrong end of the stick.

Dear Johnnie,

IMHO, this is a W.Nr. plate from a component and generally, there is no correlation between the numbers assigned to components and the RLM W.Nr. of the entire aircraft.

Thanks for that. That was what I wanted to find out really. I thought it seemed to long to be an aircraft number.

Does any body have any idea what component it would have been on? Also, what is IMHO.

Would it have been on a Ju88?

Klatte made exhaust systems and flame dampers.
