Hello Christian,

Could it be that you forgot to name a URL where this photo can be seen in your post?

Bart

Hi Christian,

Wojtek is a member of this forum and he is here quite periodically. I believe he will give you the answer soon.

Hi Christian,

The photograph can be found in "Fighters Over Tunisia" on page 56.

By Chris Shores, Hans Ring & William Hess published in 1975. The photograph is actually via the Imperial War Museum .
( I also have a copy in my own collection)

Re: Spitfire Profile question

Well, that's at least a source, but "Fighters over Tunisia" costs around 300 $ or even more at different antique book sellers. Not exactly what I call easily available! http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/images/icons/icon9.gif So could someone please post a scan of this picture or knows where else to find it?

Hello Christian,

Why not contact the Imperial War Museum?

I would at least need the negative number for that..

Re: Spitfire Profile question

Wouldn't you be able to get "Fighters over Tunesia" from a library if needed ?

I do not know your interest in a photo, but the photo does not give anymore onformation that the profile. The tail of the aircraft is not in the picture.

Re: Spitfire Profile question

Hmm, a library, why this didn't occur to me? :o I've just ordered it in the morning! The tail I guess is visible on the original picture and was left out in the book for layout reasons, but I think I can work with the rest of the plane visible. Thank you very much for this input!
