Hello,

I ´m seraching informations about Sgt. Perotta because he was in DULAG Luft near Wetzlar. He died 16. Feb. 1945 but I did not why. He disinterred from Wetzlar-Büblingshausen cemetary on 25.Feb. 1946 and have been evacuated to US Military Cemetery, St. Avold, France.

I have some docoments about this case in my archiv.
Do you know why he died?

Hi, in my small archive.. i found that Victor J. Perrotta died on a Bullet in the left side of his Head - was shot dead when he tried to escape in wetzlar - Klosterwald - only a few hours at DULAG and he seemed very depressed - he was very religious and the whole series of events did something to him - i believe that he took the break as a method of suicide - he wasn`t dressed for the winter - he was at his 13 Mission - MACR 11722 - Sgt Robert J. Putt

Hope this helps...

It appears that (a) Victor J. Perrotta is buried at Long Island National Cemetery since 18 May 1949. Section J, site 15440.
No more details are given other than his date of birth (26 Feb 1919).

If DOB matches, then Sgt Perrotta's remains were returned to the US?

Regards,

Leendert

Hello friends Mirko, Leendert, shooshoobaby, Peglar and Perrotta cousin stakeouttoo:

I was curious why the name Victor J. Perrotta sounded so familiar and did some checking. By coincidence he died the day after Bud Emmer at Dulag Luft Wetzlar. Both names are on a report, and I've attached a copy of this report from Prisoner of War Transit Camp of the Airforce West to Wehrmacht Information Office at Drachenberg Barracks. Please note that there were Certification of Death and Personal cards attached to this form. You might try Footnote.com to track down these other items. Hope this helps!
