Lancaster PB672 - Has anyone any details?
Hi, as the title says, I am looking for details on Lancaster PB672 of (I believe) 227Sqn. In particular I am looking for details of the crew. I know that they were buried at the crash site but were moved to a military cemetery afterwards. Would anybody know when this move would have happened or where I can find out when?
Thanks in advance. |

F/O E I Britton
Sgt E W Matthews F/Sgt H R Thomas F/Sgt R C Hase RCAF F/O R J Dunstan F/Sgt L H E Fairhead RAAF Sgt B Wood One of the crew, Fairhead, was RAAF. Unfortunately neither his service file nor his casualty file has been digitised, but it maybe worth asking for a copy of his casualty file for more details. Go to http://naa12.naa.gov.au/Login.htm choose Guest, and type in his service number (436696) However, as the CWGC website states Quote:

Just to add to Amrit's post, asking (and paying!) for the Aussie file to be digitised will be a good starting point for finding out details: the service record and casualty file should give you particulars of the crash and circumstances of burial etc of the bodies. If you want to see some examples of both, PM me and I'll e-mail you copies.
