Allied aircraft sank Russian sub

In September 1944 an Allied aircraft sank Russian submarine Sch-402. Has anyone any information please? Cheers Brian |

Sch -402 mistenkenly sunk by Soviet Plane type Boston of 36. GMTAP on September 21 1944 at 6.42, 5,5 miles north of Norwegian Harbour Gamvik. See

Many thanks for the details - unfortunately, my Russian is far worse than my English, so are you able to advise if all crew were lost, name of captain etc, please. Cheers Brian |

CO: Captain 3rd Class A. M. Kautskij
Submarine departed base at 21.06 hour on September 17 1944 to patrol Area Kongsfjord, Sector D, as part of Operation RV-8. It was her 16th Mission during WW2. Most of Russian Historians wrote that she was sunk by Boston Plane of 36th MTAP, but some of them donīt believe that it is right explanation. All crew killed - 45 KIA. |
