Pilots and their aircraft

Hi All

I’m looking for information regarding the pilots listed below.

P.J Sanders, 92 squadron
Flew Spitfire mk1’s and had kills using:

N3285 QJ-?
R6624 QJ-?
X4051 QJ-?

J L Flinders, 32 squadron
Flew Hurricane mk1's and had kills when flying

N2463 GV-?
L2062 GV-?

H.C Baker
Flew Spifire mk 1’s and had kills with:

19 squadron, L1030 QV-?
41 squadron R6697, X4052 EB-?

As you can see I have the pilots name, squadron and serial numbers of the aircraft they flew during the Battle of Britain but I can’t find any refernces to the squadron codes that were on their aircraft?

Can anyone help with references to what squadron codes relate to these aircraft serial numbers

Does anyone have pictures?

Many thanks in advance

Regards
Tim.

92 Sqdn; S/Ldr. Sanders. Philip James

N3285 GR-V Later QJ-V
I have a photo of this a/c, (as GR-V) tipped up on nose by 'Tich' Havercroft.

19 Sqdn; Baker. Henry Collingham.

L1030. 1/6/40 Shot down Bf110.
1/6/40 Damaged Bf110.
I have a photo of this a/c but, now on charge to 57OTU coded PW-A.

Do you only seek details of the specific a/c you indicate?
I have some history of other Spitfires than those you mention but, they do have 'kills' linked to the pilots you speak of?

Regarding photos, please contact via pm.

Tim,

I can't add anything to Mervyn's posting, but I am curious where you came up with the three serial numbers for P.J. Sanders. Chris Shores in "Aces High" does not list any serial numbers for Sanders' claims.

Regards,

Tom

Mervyn.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Yes it was those aircraft in particular, but if you have other photo's then even better, I'll pm you for the photo's if thats ok.

This all stems from a book I've recently bought which lists the three pilots I was interested in as coming from Chesterfield in Derbyshire(two lived just a stones throw from my house) and I was planning to model their aircraft.

Hi

I got the serial numbers from Barry M. Marsden's book "Derbyshire Fighter Aces of World War Two". In the book it shows the pilots and a list of the airframe serial numbers they were flying when they made their damage/kill claims throughout their career's.

Tim.
