did anybody know the crashplace of B-24, Ser.No: 42-50717. This plane was lost in combat on 17.Feb.1945 over Germany. Thank you. |

42-50717 'Y' of 785BS 466BG Attlebridge.
No.2 engine fire during assembly for ops. Some of crew baled out over sea prior to bale-out alarm being sounded and drowned. Crashed in flames at 0950 hours at Church Farm, Field Dalling, Norfolk, just S of Langham airfield. 10 x 500-lb UXB's in wreckage. Crashing aircraft careered across a lane through a group of Italian PoWs, killing one and fatally injuring a second. Burnt out Cat E-2 Salvaged from 20 Feb 1945 by FEMD (Lt Farr) Hope this helps a little ! BC |
