2/123 Loss 29 Apr 42
Can anyone give me details as to the loss of Ju 88 D-1, Wk Nr 1357, 4U+HK which went missing on a mission to Alexandria. At least 2 crew-Ofw Kurt Rohrbach & Ogefr Peter Wohlrab were taken POW

"Fighters Over The Desert" pp107 final para of entry for 28th April 1942 :- Next morning (which would be 29th April) F/Sgt Hancock of 213 Squadron claimed a Ju.88 of 2(F)/123 over the port (Alexandria). Cheers Bruce Lander |

this is all I have and it is sort of what Bruce says:
Ju 88D-1, 1357, Rohrbach, Ofw. Kurt (B), Zahn, Fw. (F), 2.(F)123, 4U+HK, 29-Apr-42, Rohrbach KIA due to Luftkampf with Hurricane from 213 Sq. Rest of crew MIA., Afrika Gen. Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #5)-Vol.8; Avions #108, p.13, Alexandria. |

I am not sure whether his name is Karl or Kurt Rohrbach, but i agree with John Beaman, that he was killed on this date.

It was Kurt Rohrbach and checking again, on 2 Nov 43 (!) it was reported that he had been killed and Wohlrab POW; confirmed in a German report dated 12 Dec 43
