Flight Journal side bar texts
Hi all,
I am not subscriber of Flight Journal. BUT I managed to have article accepted for October issue. Editor however, asked me to rewrite a bit my text and asked for two side bar 300 words texts - he says that they changed style recently... My question is: CAN SOMEONE SCAN FOR ME PAGE FROM SOME RECENT ISSUE OF THIS MAGAZINE TO SHOW ME WHAT KIND OF TEXT AND WHAT POSITION IT IS USUALLY PUBLISHED IN THESE SIDE BAR TEXTS?? Thanks! |
Re: Flight Journal side bar texts
Peter,
First congrats on getting the article accepted and, soon, published. I've written numerous ones for FJ. Sidebars are typically short 200-600 words that illustrate a particular point/detail in the larger article. Google "Target Libya" or "Do I Feel Lucky?" for a couple of mine that are online and you can see the sidebars I did. Feel free to ask Roger (the editor) for further clarification. He's always been very helpful to me. As far as to format and where they place the sidebar, that's completely up to them when they do the final layout. You will have 0 input to that. What's the story on? |
