Re: What plane is this?

To me it looks like one of the Dutch Fokker S-IVs or S-IXs from the training regiment of the Dutch Military Airforce.
They were left behind in May 1940 in France after their flight from Flushing and Haamstede airfields In the Netherlands.
It looks like the wreck was lying behind the dunes in coastal area.
See picture Fokker S-IV in attachment.

Dear All

What is going on with this site these days. First I am wellcomed (and is allowed to answer this mail), but I cannot access the uploaded photo!

All I get is first a box saying wellcom to the page and then a re-newed request to log in. This I have now done four times with the same result!

Anyone who knows where the problem is?

Cheers
Stig

Re: What plane is this?

Hi, Jaap

This is a norwegian Fokker which was destroyed on the beach of a lake, I believe from memory that it was the lake Vangsmjøsa. Have seen other photographs of the same aircraft in better shape, with the code still intact etc, but cannot access my archives from work

Note the birch trees and hills in the photograph.

Andreas Brekken
