Führerbefehle about the Me 262 fall 1944
Hello
A report from Fritz Wendel states that a Führerbefehl in August 1944 demanded the following about the use of the Me 262: - it was not allowed to fly the Me 262 at speeds above 750 km/h - it was not allowed to dive the Me 262 - over enemy territory the Me 262 had to be flown above 4000m altitude This order was canceled some months later. I am looking for the source documents with the exact wording and dates of these two orders. Can anybody tell me where to find these "Führerbefehle" in an archive? Thanks! Roger Gaemperle |

Ultra HP 4175:
(Strong indications Battle Unit Hallensleben) to Ops Detachment Schenk on 20th [October 1944]. By order of Goering, when attacking small particularly important targets, the previous bombing height of 4 000m. might be reduced. For large area targets bombing height to be determined after taking into consideration light A/A defence. |

Hello Nick,
Thanks a lot! That's very interesting and helpful information. Do you know how long Battle Unit Hallensleben coordinated I/KG51 attacks? In literature I can only find that it was in fall 1944, but no exact dates. Regards Roger Gaemperle |
