Date sometime Aug43 (possibly 19th) flying FW 189A-2 (125294?; P2+DH)

Andy Luft.Qm Report of 23-8-43 ( Hard to read) shows 19-8-43 'F' shot down in Pl.Qu 5177 to Flakbeschuss - Fw189A2 P2+DH 125894 (the 8 is suspect) of NAGr.9 Ff Oblt Gunther Luders, B Hpt. Heinz Holzmann St.Kap. and Bs Ofw Erich Briewe all missing,

Hi Brian,

Many thanks for confirming the date.

Günther Lüders was awarded the DKiG 12Jul43 with 1.(H)/21 and served with the unit until Aug43.

Heinz Holzmann was Staffelkapitän 1.(H)/21 until Aug43. So the loss on the 19th ties in nicely with both individuals.

1.(H)/21 was sub-ordinate to NAGr. 9 at the time of the loss and the unit code given P2+xH corresponds to 1.(H)/21.

Many of the loss returns for nahaufklärungstaffeln often state the gruppe the unit was sub-ordinate to rather than the staffel itself.
