Loss of Oblt. WILHELM KÜSTER, Wekusta 26

Hi friends!
Looking for more details about the loss of these successful weather-pilot, Oblt. Wilhelm Küster, Wekusta 26.
In Veit Scherzer's Ritterkreuz-book you will read the following :
missing 25.11.1942 in Northern Africa, mission to Philippville/Algeria.

Küster was decorated with the Knights Cross 6 months after his death in May 1943.
Who can give me more details? Which plane, markings, names and fates from his crew?

Uffz Hans Kronz (Bf)

There is also a picture of Wilhelm Küster + others that are credited to himself (or a namesake) via Petrick/Selinger

Hi.

The loss record as it appear in the GenQu records:

http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=129287

Seems to be a few discrepancies with regards to names, but this is not uncommon.

Also, it seems that this aircraft had a previous association with (F)/123 as most other losses in my database with the 4U code stems form this unit.

Also, the location (Bucht Algier u. Kap Sorrat) indicates that the mission they flew were to recon these locations.

Regards,
Andreas B
