Xp47h
Hello all,
Does anybody please know the whereabouts of accurate drawings of the Xp47H Allison powered prototypes. TIA maurice |
Re: Xp47h
I am not at home, so am going on memory. IIRC the P-47 H engine was not an Allison, but an experimental Chrysler engine. I believe there was a recent US magaziner with an article on this aircraft and a retailed drawing of the engine installation.
Best regards, Artie Bob |

Re: Xp47h
Hi,
An ugly looking thing with pointed nose and razor back, oh its mouth was open below its pointed nose. 42-23297 was one of two. Later on there was the XP-47J 43-46952, with an almost back to normal look. Finally the XP-72, a bubble top P47, a more refined version of the XP-47H, this version had its nose intake further back in line with the leadsing edge of the wings. Alex |
Re: Xp47h
Yep. Have many published references and drawings, all of which appear incorrect when compared to the photos. Any accurate drawings about?
Thanks, maurice |
