I have Heinz Brockmann's Flugbuch (captured by an RAF pilot in Italy in 1944) from 4 Aug 40 to Dec 41. He as with 6/JG 77 to 21 Jun 41 when he became Gr Adj II/JG 77 and then Gesch Adj JG 77 Dec 41-Apr 42. After that he went to Stab/JG 5 as Gesch Adj/IA May 42-Jun 43. No kills and he does not appear in the Rangliste for 1945. Uffz Jeschke was Martin by the way

Willi Meyer was serving with 9./JG 77 in August 1944 with the rank of Unteroffizier. He recorded one victory with the unit. In 1945 he was serving with 12./JG 77 and gained a further 10 victories with this unit for a total of 11 victories in WW 2 to go with the one he recorded in the Spanish Civil War.

Hello Gordon,
Could be different persons? Willi Meyer is a rather common name and seems rare that in 1944 he was still Uffz. ; the same rank in the Spanish CW five years earlier.
Cheers

Re: Former LC fighter pilots

Strümpell is a well-known officer (Grp.Kdr I./JG 2 in 1940) or is it another Strümpell (a rare name I think)?

You're thinking of Hennig Struempell.
