Ju 88G-6 dataplate
 

Recently I visited an acquaintance who showed me some metal part believed to be from a Ju88 with a solid nose, inline engines and a Ju188 type tail. I deducted from that that it was a Ju88G-6. It had been found at a crash site in the west of the Netherlands.
He was a bit apprehensive about me photographing the metal piece. It looks like a part of the exhaust system. It was a pipe covered with metal tapered plates, these were welded to it on one end, and then bent up at the other end to about 30 degrees. It looked very time consuming to produce it. The only reason that I could think of was it was to enlarge surface, possibly for cooling. There was a small data plate attached to it. He did let me photograph a similar data plate.

It reads: “Sach-Nr 9-1101.20”
Can anyone tell more about this number?

hi, the digit 9- indicates that it has to do with an engine. 8- would have indicated aircraft according to the RLM nomenclatura. If you have a Erzatsteilliste for the engine type used by the aircraft you have identified it belongs to, you would be able to pinpoint from which part of the engine it comes from. The first four numbers (1101) would most likely indicate a baugruppe and the 20 would indicate Untergruppe or possibly Einzelteil. I'm not very knowledgeable about this related to engines so I can't be more precise than that. Hope it helps some at least.

Hmmmm,
86 euro for one number. I know a hobby costs money but I have to think about this one.

Seems you had seen a exhaust-stub from BMW 801 radial engine?

Solid nose Ju 88 with Ju 188 tail could also be the Ju 88 G-1. I have basic system for engine parts ....

I can not answer this question - as you ask it - You say the attached photo is of a similar plate (not the real one?) Is the 9- number the same? I was asking of you perhaps providing better details - the part you describe (exhaust perhaps?) and the plate you provide do not match with the (translated to English) list that I have - (suggesting Crankcase?) - but I may be referring to a wrong list.

You do not provide more info so it´s back to Michael Olrog´s answer ...
