Hampden, P4346

hello,

on 21./22. June 1940 this plane, QR-?, 61. SQN, crashed near Bielefeld.
I am searching for more information.

P4346 took off from Hemswell to attack Schwerte. The tailplane was destroyed by Flak and the a/c crashed 2330 near Jollenbeck ,6 km NNW of Bielefeld. The Crew were:-
F/Lt D M Barrett,pilot, POW.
P/O J G Mitchell, Nav, KIA
Sgt R Houghton-Brown, W/Op,KIA
Sgt C N Webster, A/G, KIA
The dead are buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery and were probably moved there post war
The details are from Chorley Bomber Command Losses Vol 1
