Re: Photos 8-15
What is the plane in this link
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=170250825391 as it is not a Ju52 as the seller says. Also, what are the two struts from the top of the wing to just below the cockpit on this Arado 196, I have not seen them before? http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=180277288200 |
Re: Photos 8-15
Hi Peter;
The first is Junkers W 34 - The Ar 196 struts are likely for folding the wings (backwards) - not installed during flight. cheers ed |
Re: Photos 8-15
Hi...
Yes, the Junkers is a W34... judging from the unit emblem, this example operated with Flugzeugführerschule A/B 113. You can get a better idea of the emblem from this link: http://chrito.users1.50megs.com/_dat...mblemsmain.htm Select 'unit emblems on aircraft', then 'miscellaneous symbols' category, scroll to second last line, left-hand side. The Arado's unit emblem is a little 'fuzzy', but looks something like that of 1.Staffel, Küstenfliegergruppe 706... see same link as above, but under 'fish... (etc)' category. Regards |
