Re: Bf 109 photo
Photo is nice, but the gauge is not Me109. I used to own it. I sold it to a guy in the UK with NO history...next thing you know, it is mounted on a base, a "photo" appears, it now has history, and is up for sale in the UK.
Too bad for the winning bidder... mike |
Re: Bf 109 photo
I definitely agree with Mike that the gauge was not from a 109. As he knows well, a large dataplate was attached over this gauge in the 109G, covering all the gauge surface. So, no red-white marks were painted over the green ring.
And, the metal panel is not original either because there was supposed to be only a cm or so was left on the right of the gauge. This was the leftmost gauge on the 109G panel. Moreover, the 109 on the photo seems to be an AS or G-10 version, which had a plywood instrument panel, not aluminum. Though, there might be an exception. |
Re: Bf 109 photo
but the bf 109 is an unknown one, or does anyone know this photo before?
possible that the photo brings more money then the instrument. ;-) |
Re: Bf 109 photo
And that was the point of my post - the photo, not the gage !!!

Re: Bf 109 photo
Sorry Stephen. As I am primarily interested in the gauges, the photo did not take my attention at first. The photo is nice however, I would be sad for the buyer if he thought that the gauge belonged to the 109 on the photo.
