Major Rogers, U.S. Marines, 1935
Flying Officer R.G. Briese, RCAF, attended the National Air Races in Cleveland, on 1 September 1935 where he was the guest of "Major Rogers of the Fleet Marine Force, U.S. Marine Corps, from Quantico, Florida." I should like to know more about the identity and ultimate career (or fate) of this "Major Rogers".

Re: Major Rogers - correction
I am guilty of a faulty transcription - Major Rogers was from "Quantico, Virginia".

Re: Major Rogers, U.S. Marines, 1935
Most likely (later) Maj Gen Ford ("Tex") O. Rogers, one of the pioneers of Marine Corps aviation.
He's mentioned several times on this website: http://www-cgsc.army.mil/carl/docs/USMCAV.pdf Warning: pdf-file 7.35 MB. Regards, Leendert |

If it's Maj Gen Rogers indeed, then this may be interesting as well: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/forogers.htm
