Re: JU52s in Russia

The Ju 52/3mg6e W.Nr.3003 BJ+YD belonged to Sanitätsflugbereitschaft 8 based in Northern Finland around the time of the Demjansk operartions. Both photos seems to be from Northern Norway or Finland.
The aircraft served with this unit until disbandment on April 13, 1945, then located at Bodö airfield in Northern Norway. The aircraft was taken over by Transportfliegergruppe 20 and was located at Kjevik airfield near Kristiansand in Southern Norway at the time of capitulation. It saw temporary use i the medivac role from Eggemoen airfield north-west of Oslo from June to August 1945, operated by German crews on behalf of the Allied Commander in Norway. Transferred to Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel on October 10, 1945 and given RAF Ser.No. VM 912. Transferred to No. 6 MU at Brize Norton June 14, 1946. Sold as scrap to J. Dale & Co. March 11, 1948. Prior to its arrival in Norway in August 1941, the aircraft had served with Sanitätsflugbereitschaft 7. It was damaged 20% by strafing enemy aircraft while at Athen-Kalamaki airfield in Greece on May 17, 1941.
