Posting Problems.
Hi Ruy or anyone,
Could you help me PLEASE ! I just spent an hour and a half typing a reply for a thread, only for my connection to fail. At least if one could go back to that screen, as per the RAF Commands website, after a connection failure then one could just re-submit it again and all would be well. Fearing this might happen I had earlier typed it out in WordPad on my computer. I cannot find a way to 'Cut' and 'Paste' a reply on to a thread on your forum. Can you suggest anything ? Yours, technically challenged Martin Gleeson. |
Re: Posting Problems.
Martin,
Cut and pasting should be fairly easy to accomplish. On a Windows system: - type your text - select all with [CTRL] + [A] - copy text with [CTRL] + [C] - open thread - click on reply - select text field - paste with [CTRL] + [V] - click on submit reply As for the continuing after losing your connection, that's a different matter. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but that is a browser issue, not the forum code. However... you can use the same copying technique to make "temporary backups" as you type. If I make a long post I use this method myself. At certain stages while typing, simply: [CTRL]+[A] [CTRL]+[C] If you have a problem, you simply [CTRL]+[V] and you have the text at the last back-up moment. (On an Apple it is pretty much the same: [APPLE]+... |
