B-24 42-52332
Hi ,
B-24 42-52332 44BG/506BS was lost on 3/15/1944 ( MACR 3220 ) . Could it be possible that this a/c was lost over Belgium. Greetings |
Re: B-24 42-52332
There is a narrative story of the loss at the bomb groups website:
http://www.greenharbor.com/ROHPDF/ROHMar44.pdf http://www.nimh.nl/nl/images/1944%20sec_tcm5-7285.pdf The site above places it I think at: Den Hulst (Nieuwleusen) at 12:30 You could get the MACR at footnote.com possibly. regards Dennis |

Re: B-24 42-52332
Alain !
The LGK-reports for this day give also a "LIBERATOR , s/n 252332 at De Hulst, Community of Nieuw-Leusen". References are AV 721/44 and KU 1194. Fortunately, I'm in the possesion of the original German Ku-report about this incident. As the crash location, also Balgbrug is mentioned in those documents ????. All the best ! Horst Weber |
Re: B-24 42-52332
Horst & Alain,
Balgbrug should read Balkbrug, which is just a little east of Nieuwleusen. Den Hulst on the other hand is a bit to the west... All of these in the Dutch province of Overijssel. Regards, Leendert |
Re: B-24 42-52332
Horst,
this crash is in my back yard. Back in the early eighties I did extensive research in this crash and corresponded with a couple of the crew and extensively with Will Lundy. I have the MACR, but would like to get copies of the original KU 1194 report. Could you send me copies? Please drop me a PM. Cheers, John |
