Probably that it WNr. 088 15 270, it is simple it in an awful condition and to read number very difficultly.

Is this crushed part plate (schild)? Can you post a scan or do you like to send it in private mail?

Hi Leo,

This is part plate = *Left corner is Henschel logo (Six Arm star with H in middle)
and reads as follow.

Henschel Flugzeugwerke
Lizenz Junkers

First field = Best.Nr. 54860 xx Ordering number
Next field = Zeichn. Nr. 88.157 xx part from fuselage
Next Field = Typ u. Grp. Ju 88 A 4 Type and version
Next Field = Kontr. *BA ? Inspection stamp, from inspector

This plate has not W.Nr. I used similar plate for comparision, but like the one
abowe this is also slightly damaged by corrsion. I suggest you take this plate to special workshop like your local or National Museum for conservation and treatment, do not attempt to clean or polish, it might damage the rest of letters. HFW Ju 88 part plates are rare and this is the fourth I have seen.
