Info on Derelict Mosquito
352d FG Historian Robert Powell is looking for

Maybe 488 Squadron? ME-P? Do you have a serial number or the date of the incident? I could check later on the Mosquito records, ok? My guess, it is a 488 Squadron machine...

Mosquito NF.30 Adriano is referring to may be MV570 of 488 Squadron that skidded on landing from night patrol in bad weather. Undercarriage collapsed, 28/12/1944. Source: dehavilland.ukf.net In 2nd TAF, Vol. 2 it says crew were F/L J.A.S Hall and F/L J.P.W.G. Cairns and a/c crashed on icy runway landing Y.29 (= Asch) at 06.15 a.m. Regards, Leendert |
