1. and 3./ZG76 were indeed operating from Stavanger/Norway, but 2./ZG76 was stationed in Aalborg, Denmark. From there the northern part of The Netherlands was well within reach, and they clearly did operate there on May 10-12. It participated in the repeated ground attacks on the Vlijt (Texel, the advanced flying school), de Mok (Texel, naval air service), de Kooy (incl naval flying school) and Bergen. A considerable number of mostly training aircraft was damaged and destroyed, and claims of 10-15 of ground destructions therefore are not unrealistic, although there is probably some overlap between the individual claims.

I. and II./ZG1 operated over the southern part of The Netherlands, essentially the province of Zeeland (de Schelde estuary) and southern Holland, i.e. the Rotterdam and The Hague areas and over the coastline.

Pieter: Thank you for your comments. Certainly seems to support the large # of ground claims versus the large # of A/C lost on Northern airfields. Robert, thank you for info. on Oblt. Moeller's claims. I was aware that he had made 3 claims on 10.5.40, but only had info. on the 600 Sqn blenheim. I recall you mentioning in a previous post that he may have claimed against a Fokker T-V earlier in the day. Does this still stand, or have you discounted this in light of more up to date info.? Cheers Dean
