hi,

i would like to draw your attention to this new book: "die dunklen jahre" by alexander steenbeck. although it is the story of the airport luebeck-blankensee it covers lot of interesting luftwaffe units like kg 26, njg 5, 10./njg 11, kg 76 (with ar 234) and even old stuka units stg 162 and 167/168. lot of new photos and detaisl taken from kriegstagebuecher, flugbuecher and other files. look at www.diedunklenjahre.de. i am glad that i´ve bought one, only 19,99 euro!

hi pilot,

most of them! interesting are rare photos of the he 111 of the gruppenkommandeur of I./kg 26 and details about stab-paintings on their he 111. there also three colour-profiles included (made by simon schatz) of a fw 190 f-9, ju 88 g-6 and ju 87 a-1!

Hello,
I´ve also bought this book. It is very interesting, especially the
chapter about the Fw 190-production of the Norddeutsche Donrierwerke in
Luebeck in the last days of WW2.

..a very good effort for a self-published work ! If anything less is more (some of the pics are a little small) & not everyone will like the soft covers - straight to the top of my pile though ! (well, along with JG 2 Vol II)
