Loss of Walter Sturmer in the West 17th September 1942

Mery Christmas to everyone.

Can anyone provide details over the loss of Walter Sturmer who was lost in an air battle on 17.09.42 in the West?

He was a Leutnant in a bomber unit.
Many thanks

Rick

Walter Stütmer

Hello Rick

On that date there was a collision in the air involving two bombers of IV./KG 55 over Dijon airfield: He 111 P-4 (W.Nr. 2880) flown by Leutnant Walter Stütmer, who was among those killed, and He 111 P-2 (W.Nr. 1498) flown by Leutnant Karl Nordbruch. Could this be your guy?

Horrido!

Leo
