Fw190 image
Greetings all :)
any idea about this plane: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35...ne/FW-190A.jpg Cheers |
Re: Fw190 image
Yes, it's an Fw 190F-8/R1 or -9/R1 of either 6./SG10 (Yellow 2+-) or Stab.II./SG10 (Green 2+-) - I can't decide which - and was photographed at Neubiberg. There's several other views of this aircraft, I seem to recall some of them are published in the AJ Press Fw 190A,F,G work,

Re: Fw190 image
Thank you :) All info I have before was from the JaPo but they are very short.

Re: Fw190 image
Was there any new info available on this machine in last few years?
Is the unit and color of the markings known "for sure" by now? |
Re: Fw190 image
Hello Pilot,
This is an expected poor reproduction of the well-known and habitually-purloined photograph taken by my late friend, Merle C. Olmsted, post-war at Neubiberg. As suggested above, the aircraft in question is Ar-War-built Fw 190 F-8/R1 (WNr. 586875) 2+ - yellow/or green, outlined black, probably last with II./SG10. The color of its rudder is still an open question; is its darker gray value versus its yellow cowl band the result of being cocked to one side, or is it another color? Regarding its camouflage colors, I have no reason to believe that it is in anything but 74/75/76. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
Re: Fw190 image
The last I had/found on this, was that it was Yellow 2+- not Green ...

Re: Fw190 image
May I know the source or reasons behind this new opinion?
