The Russian front was quite extensive!

Hurricanes at this time were still being used extensively in the North.

Which area are you looking at?

Hi,

all I know of are two Hurricanes of 3. GIAP KBF lost in combat with Brewsters Buffalos over Finnish Bay. One, piloted by kapt. Cepjolkin ditched and the pilot drowned, the other one, piloted by kapt. Borisov, was damaged in the dog fight and crash-landed when landing. The pilot survived.

are you sure on the date? My sources give the date of that battle as 14 Aug 42.

Hi Juha,

my source is a book by Dymich and Sedivy. I know they are not always 100 per cent accurate so maybe they have got the date wrong.

mine is Keskinen's and Stenman's Suomen Ilmavoimat/Finnish Air Force 1942 and the date is in agreement with the Finnish claims, 8 Hurricanes were claimed on 14th none on 13th.
