Can anyone shed any light on the loss of Ju88 S4+GH of 1./506 over the North Sea on the night of 12/13 June 1941? Area of loss possibly between 56ºN-58ºN

Thanks,Adam. The wnr and first names are useful, though the 506 KTB gives Gothard and Kley '. What is your source?
Thanks, Chris. That narrows down possible causes of loss.

Hi Bill,

I double checked in case I'd SNAFU'd the post, but they are what I have recorded in my db. The source is the Gen.Qu.6.Abt loss reports. Nr. 3131/41, Lf.1

Does the KTB record whether a distress signal was received, or was this a low level sortie that ended in pilot error to close to wave tops?

Re: 1./506

Adam,
Thanks for that. My micro-reader is temporarily 'kaputt' so I cannot consult my Gen.Qu.6 reports. S4+GH was one of 5 x Ju88s despatched on a 'strip' recce. It was tasked to fly as far as Q3823/15W (off Banff/Fraserburgh, on the Moray Firth). No distress signal. Cause of loss currently unknown, though Chris Goss's reply suggests that 'Luftkampf' might be ruled out

Hi.

Loss record as recorded by GenQu 6 Abt:

http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=111813

Regarding the names, KommGenbObdM has noted Kleyn as Kley, then Klei with the i superimposed on the y in pencil, but the others as written here.

Guess the most reliable source would be a NVM, do not know if anyone has got one for these guys.

Regards,
Andreas B

Thanks, Andreas.
KommGenObdM? Is that a useful source that I should know about?
