Fw190D-9 JV44 'Red' 3
Help please!
Am building 1/32 Fw190D-9 'Red' 3 as flown by Hptm. Waldemar Wubke in April, 1945. The underside is shown as RLM 23 red with 'white' stripes. Not wishing to use the kit decals, I prefer to paint the stripes. Can anyone tell me what this colour was? The decal stripes appear to be a cream, or off white colour. Any ideas? Peter |

Hi Peter...
Both "Focke-Wulf Fw190D Camouflage & Markings Part II" by M.Deboeck, E.Larger and T.Poruba [JaPo, 2007] and "Doras of the Galland Circus" by J.Crandall [Classic, 1999] confirm that the undersurfaces were painted red with unevenly spaced white stripes of varying width... cheers Peter D Evans LEMB Administrator |

Hello again Peter,
As usual - very efficient, thank you. You were also very helpful in my recent Fieseler Storch enquiry as well. I must try for the hat-trick sometime! many thanks once again. Peter |
